ave Bauer started Family Concern Counseling in 1986 as a branch of NW Indiana Youth for Christ. Dave continued to serve as the YFC director and part-time counselor for eight more years, before he began counseling full time. From the early years until now, FCC has grown to include a staff of 12 other counselors and two interns. In June of 2005, Family Concern Counseling became an independent not-for-profit incorporated by the state of Indiana.

Family Concern Counseling is a group of professionals providing a wide range of counseling and clinical services. We assist adults, premarital and married couples, families, single parents, teens and children in all of life’s twists and turns. Family Concern Counseling, in addition, provides psychological assessments and behavior-management services. When things get difficult, you can count on the staff at FCC to show you another way, to teach you new skills and attitudes, and to bring new resources to you. For those times when peace seems hard to grasp or hope is just plain out of sight, you can find a counselor who will be there to guide you.

Dave is a licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Masters in Counseling from Grace Seminary and a bachelors degree in education from Western Michigan University. He and his wife of 41 years, Phyllis, have two children and three grandsons. They have lived in the Valparaiso area since their marriage and are very involved in the community. They are active members of First Baptist church in Valparaiso.
