Center Township Trustee
202 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso | (219) 462.0810 | The Township Trustee assists the less fortunate residents with life necessities on a temporary basis. We provide fire and emergency service protection and provide pertinent information to all residents of Center Township.
Salvation Army
779 Capitol Road, Valparaiso | 1.800.SAL.ARMY | The Porter County Salvation Army provides many types of assistance programs to the people facing crisis situations. They offer spiritual, social and budget counseling along with rent assistance, mortgage, utility, fire & disaster victims, and other emergency needs. Please call to make an appointment. They also have a ‘Dress Up for the Bus’ program that provides a new outfit and collects and distributes school supplies each July/August for the new school year.

Clothes N Prayers
786 Juniper Road, Valparaiso (South Haven) | (219) 531.7777 ext 5 | Clothes N Prayers provides clothing for anyone in need. They are open every Tuesday from 10:00am - 2:00pm and Thursday from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. There are a variety of men’s, women’s, girls & boys attire to chose from. Shoes, purses, linens and more. Volunteers will be on hand to help you with whatever you need.
Dressed for School

Dressed for School aims to help elementary students who come from families in need by providing them with quality clothing at no cost. The students will be able to select their own clothing in a shopping environment. Families should contact their child’s school social worker for referral.
The Pax Center
605 Washington Street, LaPorte, IN | (219) 575.7842 | Wednesday & Thursday 12:00-1:30PM and Saturdays 9:00-10:30AM | The Pax Center maintains a free clothes pantry to help individuals and families have better access to free quality used clothing. Besides everyday clothing, we also help with clothes for job interviews, work clothes, and seasonal attire.
Dry Goods Pantry
2702 E Glendale Blvd, Valparaiso, IN | (219) 462.2751 | VNC hosts a dry goods pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. We work with area food pantries to provide non-food items to those in need. Those seeking dry goods register with the food pantries and then bring a voucher to our church to collect their dry goods.

Healthy Communities of LaPorte

They will provide the information you need to understand copays, power account payments, deductibles, setting up appointments with a primary care provider, and getting the most out of preventive care benefits. Their goal is simple- Make sure your family enrolls in coverage, knows how to use it, and maintain coverage once approved.

They provide FREE assistance statewide to families and individuals interested in applying for Indiana Health Coverage Programs such as Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) and Hoosier Healthwise (HHW – Indiana’s Children’s Health).
