Jon Sheets, LMHCA
Jon received his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and Bachelors of Science in Psychology, both from Ball State University. Jon lives in Valparaiso and enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, writing fiction, and being a part of his church family at Washington Evangelical Free Church. Jon uses a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy, a well researched approach known as the "gold standard" for depression and anxiety treatment. This approach focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This includes identifying different cognitive errors and replacing them with more evidence-based thinking, as well as learning behaviors that work for you to positively impact your feelings. This helps develop a new sense of purpose and joy in life, finding meaning in all of life's ups and downs. Jon writes about Christian counseling at jontsheets.com.
